May 7, Vinitsa signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Nistru Euroregion (Ukraine) and the Institute for Project Development and Expertise (IDEP) (Moldova).
Agreement signed by Vinnitsa Regional Council chairman, Nistru Euroregion president Sergei Tatusyak and IEP president Iurie Calestru.
The Memorandum provides that the Parties have reached a cooperation agreement based on mutually beneficial cooperation and various actions in the implementation of regional projects, advice on the implementation of the public-private partnership in its various forms, in order to promote the creation conditions for cooperation between different localities of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, for the preparation of projects and proposals to obtain financing from different sources for the implementation of regional projects.
According to Iurie Calestru, IDEP represents 145 mayors from the Republic of Moldova with whom he has signed co-operation agreements.
— Our task — to support local authorities in addressing their strategic challenges. First of all, we will act as experts and provide support and launch of infrastructure projects. As well as water supply, sewage, road infrastructure and, as a consequence, the environment, — said the IDEP director.
Sergei Tatusyak mentioned that the topic of strategic planning is very relevant to the Viniţa region, in the light of the presidential initiative on the 2020 state strategy.
— Today is almost completed work for the implementation of the local development strategies of Vinita for the period 2014-2020, in line with the seven-year European period. We ask you to explore the strategic plans of the Vinitsa region. And I’m sure it will give a new impetus to improve them, — said Sergei Tatusyak.
By signing the Memorandum of Understanding, the parties agreed to finalize their plan of common specific activities.
